For achieving the maximum effect from using ice-bores we recommend to use the knives produced by the JSC “TONAR PLUS”.
The proper knife construction with optimum cutting angles is designed for each diameter of ice-bore. For example, the knives of ЛР-130 are made in a double-leveled form divided by cross riffle, three cutting edges provide high speed of boring and reduce applying efforts. The ice-bore of 180mm diameter is equipped with four knives; the working surfaces of outer knives are grooved. Produced of high-carbon alloyed steel the knives have volumetrical hardening and high solidity. The knives may be regrinded many times without performance degradation.
